Angelo
AvailableAngelo is a male Rottweiler with a short, bicolor black coat who currently lives in Old Westbury, NY. He is an adult dog, neutered, and his vaccinations are up to date. Known for being easygoing and sweet, Angelo is waiting for a home where his loyal and affectionate nature will be appreciated.
About Angelo
Angelo came into rescue from a high-volume shelter in San Antonio where Rottweilers like him don’t often get second chances. At three years old, this Rottweiler acts like a big puppy—happy to melt for belly rubs and lean against you for ear scratches. He’s very much a charmer, gentle, and easy to be around. When tested with another dog, Angelo stayed physically calm but tensed up, so he’s looking for a home as the only pet. He is based in Old Westbury, NY and spending time with him is like having a giant, affectionate shadow. While Angelo is sweet and manageable, Rottweilers require owners who are confident, steady, and able to understand their subtleties. Angelo isn’t suited for beginners. He’ll thrive with someone who respects the breed and wants a loyal companion. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!

Questions about Angelo
What type of living environment is this breed usually best suited for?
Rottweilers like Angelo do best in secure homes where boundaries are clear and leadership is confident. A house with a yard or ample space tends to suit their temperament better than small apartments.
How much outdoor space does this breed typically need?
Angelo’s breed, the Rottweiler, appreciates a good-sized yard or regular outdoor time to burn off energy. Daily walks and a secure area for him to stretch his legs will keep him content.
Is this breed typically suitable for homes with children?
Rottweilers can be good family dogs, but Angelo would do best in a home with adults or older, dog-savvy children who understand his size and strength. Early training and supervision are important.
