Velvet is a calm, stately girl with a quiet presence and a truly gentle soul. She is thoughtful, steady, and quietly affectionate in her own understated way. She arrived in foster care in September 2024 as a pregnant mama and went on to raise seven kittens, all of whom have since been adopted. She was a patient, devoted mother, and now that her job is done, it's finally her turn to be someone's cherished companion. She has been living in a busy, cat-centered foster home with a steady rotation of foster kittens and four resident cats. She adjusts easily to the activity and gets along well with other cats, though her laid-back nature sometimes allows her to fade gently into the background rather than demand attention. She enjoys being petted and brushed, usually after you make the first move. She prefers to be close by instead of right in the middle of things-content to share space with her people and feline friends while maintaining a sense of dignity and independence. Every now and then, she'll surprise you by hopping into a lap or curling up in bed, just long enough to remind you she's been quietly watching all along. Food is one thing that reliably brings her forward. She has a special devotion to FortiFlora and will come running the moment she hears the packet open. When it's time to relax, Velvet seeks out high places, especially a tall cat tree by a window where she can nap and calmly survey her surroundings. When she's being brushed, her deep purr and steady, soulful gaze say more than words ever could-there's a softness there that feels like a gift when she chooses to share it. Velvet is spayed, current on all vaccinations, microchipped, and negative for FELV/FIV.
