About Mookie

Mookie Has Been Waiting... and She's So Ready Since December 2, Mookie has been given a second chance. Now, months later, she's still waiting for her forever one. Mookie is estimated to be a 3-year-old, 47 lb pocket pittie with cow-print coloring, a tiny “moo” bark, and the sweetest, most soulful heart. She may not be the loudest dog in the room—but when she chooses you, she chooses you for life. Her Personality Mookie is a true heart dog. She doesn't just like her person—she bonds deeply and becomes your little shadow. Outside with her human? Her butt never stops wiggling. She's goofy and joyful, bouncing around on her spring-loaded back legs like she has built-in pogo sticks. She loves rolling in the grass, adored the snow (complete with bunny hops), and always carries one of her tough toys—her “baby”—everywhere she goes. If she accidentally leaves it behind, just ask, “Where's your baby?” and she'll proudly go find it and bring it back. She has a charming “party eye,” snores like a freight train, and melts instantly for happy, high-pitched voices. Shy at First, Loyal for Life Mookie can be shy with new people, but she has made incredible progress in foster care. With proper introductions, she warms up beautifully. Meet her outside, toss a ball, use a cheerful voice and you'll see her start to open up. Once she trusts you, she bonds deeply, loves fiercely, and wants nothing more than to be near her person. She's looking for someone patient and kind—someone willing to earn her trust and be rewarded with a once-in-a-lifetime bond. Smart Girl in Training Mookie is actively working on clicker training and thrives with structure and routine. • Mastered “sit” • Currently learning “place” • Working on polite door manners • Crate trained (she settles beautifully—she just prefers a little lift into her royal suite ) • Potty trained • Highly food and toy motivated Every morning after she pottys outside, she enjoys her special routine: a lick mat covered in yogurt. Her Favorite Things • Tough toys & nylon chews • Carrying her “baby” everywhere • Rolling in the grass • Playing ball (the fastest way to her heart!) • Cozy couches • Snuggles after a long day • Snoring peacefully beside her person The Home She's Dreaming Of • Adult-only home • Dog-experienced adopter • Preferably the only dog (she loves being the center of attention) • Someone patient, structured, and kind • A person who wants a deeply loyal, slightly goofy best friend Why She's Still Here Mookie isn't still waiting because she isn't amazing. She's still waiting because she's looking for the right person. She's not the kind of dog who loves everyone instantly. She's the kind who chooses her person — and once she does, it's forever. That kind of love is rare. And it's worth the wait. Her forever person is out there. She's ready.
