About Chelsea

Chelsea’s story begins as a feral mom, raising her kittens in a barn before finding safety in foster care. Now about 10 years old, she has come a long way from her wary days—these days, she loves being brushed, and her thick, rabbit-soft gray-blue fur stays at its best with regular grooming. She appreciates pets and affection, seeking out attention with a gentle meow and taking her place right at your side on the arm of the couch, eager for that down-the-back scratch that she truly loves. Chelsea had a rough patch with infected teeth, and now, after having all her teeth removed, she feels much better. Still, touching her face is off-limits—a boundary you’ll need to respect. She’s prone to chronic upper respiratory flare-ups and does best with semi-annual vet checkups, but just a little extra care with l-lysine in her food keeps things stable. She prefers calm routines and doesn’t care to be picked up or have her paws handled, so trimming her claws takes patience. Chelsea will accept the presence of other cats as long as they respect her space, but she avoids interaction, and thanks to a traumatic run-in as a kitten, she does not do well with dogs. She really isn’t suitable for homes with children. What she offers is quiet companionship: she’ll curl up in a sunny spot or sleep on your spare pillow, ready to keep you company on her terms. Her foster mom is going into assisted living, making it urgent to find Chelsea a soft place to land. Click apply to start the adoption process.
