About Candace
Candace is a 3-year-old German Wirehaired Pointer and Cattle Dog mix with a scruffy face and a strong sense of who she likes—a hint: women only. In her foster home, she coexists with a man by mastering avoidance and keeping her distance, but never with aggression. She knows her boundaries and expects you to respect them. Outside of her well-defined preferences, Candace thrives: she’s house trained, crate trained, and gets along well with other dogs. Walks are a breeze since she’s polite on leash. Cats, however, are far too interesting for her to ignore, so she’s best in a feline-free home. Candace has recently started medication to help with her confidence and is already making progress. She’s looking for a patient, compassionate adopter who finds her quirks charming and is comfortable with her boundaries. If you appreciate a dog with a strong personality and can offer a woman-centric home, Candace could be your fiercely loyal companion, so long as you’re not a man. Every animal deserves a happy ending. This one starts with you.
