Extra-Toes Cats, also known as Hemingway Polydactyls, are cats born with more than the usual number of toes due to a genetic trait. Named after Ernest Hemingway, whose Key West home still houses a colony of polydactyl cats, these charming felines can have up to seven toes on each paw. The extra toes give their paws an adorable, oversized "mitten" appearance.

Adopting a Hemingway Polydactyl means welcoming a cat with a unique physical trait and typically a wonderful, adaptable personality.
