About Max

Max, also affectionately known as Senor Snooter, is all beagle—charm, cuddles, a big nose for trouble, and a trademark bay you can hear from down the block. At three years old, his goofy antics are matched only by his need to stick with his people and his comical love of rolling in whatever he shouldn’t. Max gives hugs (sometimes on command) and sleeps curled up as close to his person as physically possible, his snoring officially reaching old-man volume levels. At his foster home, Max gets along with the resident dogs and cats, but he chases cats if they run and won’t resist going after a roaming chicken. He needs a patient adopter who understands how beagles operate—he’ll adjust to a multi-pet home given time, but expect some chasing and jealousy. He’s garbage-can obsessed, a true opportunist in the kitchen, and shameless about grabbing snacks if you let your guard down. Food, trash, and counters will need to be Max-proofed. Max loves walks, car rides, and making the rounds at any store willing to let him in a cart. He’s mostly house trained, with the occasional mishap if the routine slips. He knows sit, down, and circus—and is working on paw—but his Spanish commands are stronger right now. He’s not fond of nail trims but loves a bath. He also reacts poorly to being startled or grabbed, especially by small children, so he’ll do best in a home without toddlers. A fenced yard or electric fence is required, as his beagle sense of adventure will lead him to explore. He can be anxious when left alone and needs someone home most of the time. Max is neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated. If you know and love the quirks of a true beagle, Max could be your perfect sidekick. Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today.
