About Cara
Cara is a 1.5-year-old Lab mix who weighs around 25 lbs and has a glossy black coat. Her early life was rough—rescued from terrible neglect where she lived in a trash heap, she arrived underweight but is steadily filling out now with regular meals and care. Despite what she’s been through, Cara shows her sweet, affectionate side every day. She loves fetch, tug, chase and is always ready for a walk, especially with her harness on. Cara’s energetic but also knows how to settle and cuddle, making her a well-balanced companion. She listens well, is potty trained, crate-friendly, and comes running when called—especially at playful cues like whistles or when she hears the resident dog’s name. Cara gets along well with other dogs and happily lounges nearby when someone’s working from home. She hasn’t been left alone for more than four hours at a time, so continued bathroom breaks are important while her routine gets established. Shoes are a favorite curiosity for her—so best to keep those stowed away while she finishes learning her manners. Cara currently has heartworms, but her treatment is fully covered by Humane Tomorrow through their partner vet and has an excellent prognosis. Full of happy energy and affection, she’s ready to find her match. Your new best friend is just one click away.
