About Omar
Meet Omar, a nine-month-old Lab/Dogo Argentino mix whose presence fills the room. Around 60 pounds, Omar exudes classic puppy energy—a goofy, athletic body and a big, eager grin—but relaxes into calmness once he settles. Deafness hasn't slowed him down; he's tuned into his world, connecting with people through his love of treats and a sharp eye for cues. After two months in professional training, Omar is reliable, house trained, and crate trained, thriving on routines and structure. Omar gets along well with other mellow dogs, though he’s just as content being your only companion. Chaotic, rowdy play doesn’t suit him; he does best with calm canine friends or as the sole pet. Toys are a must in Omar’s world, both indoors and outside, and he switches between goofy playfulness and gentle affection with ease. For his safety and comfort, especially as he can’t hear, gentle interactions are important—never startle him while sleeping—and consistency matters. He’ll flourish in a calm, stable home, ideally with older kids or teens and patient adopters ready to continue positive training. A fenced yard is a bonus, but what he truly wants is a family that sees his ability, not his limitation. Omar can’t hear the world, but he’s present in every way that counts.
