About Lincoln
Give them the home they have been waiting for. Apply today. Lincoln is a small Pekingese mix weighing about 30 lbs who is learning, for the first time, what kindness from humans can mean. He has spent his life in a crowded home, used only for breeding, and never had the chance to feel true security or love. Because of this, Lincoln is understandably wary and will need a very patient and devoted adopter willing to offer him both time and gentle encouragement to decompress. Lincoln isn’t a dog who will immediately seek affection—he requires consistency, structure, and an especially calm environment to start building trust. He is also heartworm positive, so adopting him means being able to provide a peaceful, restful space during his treatment, where limited activity and gentle care are essential as he recovers in both body and spirit. Though Lincoln may seem withdrawn now, dogs with his background often blossom beautifully when finally given a chance. Underneath his apprehension is a gentle soul simply waiting to learn the world can be safe and warm with the right person. If you’re patient, understanding, and committed to going at his pace, you’ll see him slowly open up and reveal who he really is. If you can provide Lincoln with a calm, structured home alongside lots of time and compassion, you can become the person who gives him the life he’s never known—and in doing so, change his world for the better. Fun fact: Since Lincoln was born on October 4, he’s a Libra! Libras are said to thrive in harmony, which perfectly matches his need for a tranquil environment. They are waiting with paws crossed!
