About Opal

Meet Opal the Frenchie! She weighs just 16 pounds but manages to pack plenty of personality and resilience into her small frame. At about 3 years old, Opal has already overcome more hurdles than most dogs ever will. She came to her foster home in rough shape and needed help with her weight, spay surgery, heartworm treatment, airway surgeries, and a mammary cyst removal. It’s a long list, but Opal has healed up and is ready for a fresh start. Found abandoned—likely after being used for breeding—Opal still has a sweet, spunky outlook on life. Her energy around other dogs can come off as "aggressive" at first, but she's really just excitable and needs continued socialization. She lives with other dogs now and does well once introductions are over. For children, Opal would do best in a home with older kids (10+) as she can play a little rough for the youngest. She hasn't been tested with cats. A home with another dog would suit her, and prior Frenchie experience is a must—someone who understands the quirks and needs of the breed. Opal is spayed, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and on heartworm and flea prevention. She’s in a Memphis-area foster home and ready to meet her forever family. Ready to fall in love?
