About Nicolas
Nicolas is a scrappy young Terrier blend with a bit of Yorkie tossed in—a true street dog puzzle. At roughly 1-2 years old, he landed in animal control after a Good Samaritan saw him being mistreated. He waited two weeks for someone to claim him before a rescue stepped in. Nicolas is all about play—give him a squeaky toy and he’s in heaven. He’s sociable with other dogs, though he can be rough and loud during play, but shows a submissive side too. Apartment life suits him, especially if his adopters are active and possibly already have dogs. He handles kids well and walks nicely on leash. Belly bands work for him and keep his manners in check indoors. Outdoors, he’s a clever little digger, so supervision is a must. He’s now living in Denver after his San Antonio rescue and is available for meet-and-greets. Adoption goes through Nicolas’s Texas rescue partner, and a separate transport fee applies. Red Fern Animal Rescue focuses on saving neglected street dogs and giving them a shot at a better life in Colorado. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
