Dahlia is still working on her social skills, but she has a friendly nature and is looking for an experienced family to help her thrive.
About Dahlia
Dahlia is a spayed 2-year-old Pitbull/German Shepherd mix who weighs around 52 pounds. She’s sweet and curious, but still on the shy side, especially in new situations—kids at home should be 10 or older, and a family with experience handling dogs who need a bit of patience is best. Dahlia’s still learning her doggy social skills and could use continued training to help her get comfortable with new canine friends. If there’s already a mellow dog at home, bring them along to meet Dahlia in person to make sure it’s a good fit. She wants to meet the whole household before heading home. Out in the world, Dahlia travels well in the car and enjoys taking in the sights and fresh air. She hikes really nicely—sticks by your side, never pulls, and responds well to her name and recall. Dahlia is cautious in busy settings, but once she’s had a moment to take everything in, her curiosity takes over. She liked relaxing near ponds and showed some individual quirks, like preferring to drink water from a bottle lid rather than a typical travel bowl. After a few hours at the park, she happily slept on the trip back, and navigated back to her kennel easily. Dahlia is a gentle, well-behaved companion who just needs a bit of extra time to feel at home. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
