About Cairn Terrier Dogs

Cairn Terriers are small, hardy working terriers from Scotland, famous as the breed of Toto in The Wizard of Oz. They are spirited, curious, and full of personality despite their compact size. Their shaggy coat and bright eyes give them an endearing, scruffy appearance.

Adopting a Cairn Terrier brings a cheerful, adventurous companion into your home. They are adaptable, good with families, and have enough energy for outdoor fun without requiring marathon exercise sessions. Their alert nature makes them excellent little watchdogs.

Summers are extreme with temperatures exceeding 105°F and pavement reaching 170°F. Walk dogs only before 7 AM or after 8 PM, and always test the ground with your hand first. Keep fresh water available at all times, as heatstroke is a life-threatening risk for pets in the Valley.
