About Milo

**INTERESTED FOSTER THROUGH RESCUE** Meet Milo (ACCT-A-238444)! This sweet, soulful guy is looking for a fresh start with a family who can offer him the love and patience he deserves. Milo is just a year old, and while he's trying to navigate the scary shelter right now, he's being brave and showing us glimpses of his sweet personality! Milo was surrendered to ACCT on 4/14 when his owner got pregnant and couldn't care for him anymore. They reported that he's lived successfully with kids (including babies/toddlers), dogs, and cats in the past! They also said that he loves tug-of-war, rope toys, chew bones, and bacon bites, so he'd love a playful home where he can settle in and thrive. While he can be a bit shy with new people initially, he finds great comfort in snuggling and cuddling once he feels safe. He walks great on a leash and has been known to find a quiet spot under a desk to watch the world go by until he's ready to join in. If you are looking for a sweet, loyal companion who just needs a little time and kindness to truly shine, Milo is waiting to meet you! He's trying to figure out the noisy, confusing shelter, and he keeps searching for his family. Easy to handle and clearly trying his best to be brave. Behavior eval 4/18/2026: Kennel Presentation: Laying down quietly in the back of his sidebank kennel. He gave a few lip licks when I opened the door and showed my leash. Leash Skills: Laid quietly and allowed me to leash him easily, then came out of kennel without issue. Pulled moderately on leash, very manageable due to his small size. Sociability: No interest in treats or attention - he was primarily exit/owner searching the entire time we were in the yard. He seemed very distracted and slightly panicky. He did not solicit attention but allowed handling. In the volunteer office, he was nervous and sniffing around, continuing to exit search. He calmed down eventually and accepted gentle pets from a visiting volunteer group, giving a few yawns after a few minutes and allowing me to lead him away easily. He set up under a staff member's desk and seemed more comfortable watching everything from there. Play: N/A Dog Interaction: N/A Return to Kennel: Hesitant to return, but hopped back in with some coaxing and leash pressure Color Level: Exp gold Recommendations and considerations: Go slow, he's pretty nervous Abbreviated owner surrender notes: First we'd like to learn about your dog's daily routine and home life.
