About Duke
Duke is a wide-eyed explorer whose rough start hasn’t dimmed his light. At just 4 months old, this heeler mix was discovered in a hoarding situation, almost bound for a high-kill shelter before a foster in Texas stepped up. Since then, Duke has revealed himself as an affectionate, eager, and downright funny pup. His playful nature shines through as he learns quickly and looks to his humans for guidance and fun. He’d be a great companion for families who can invest some energy into training and enrichment; he thrives with engaging activities and would be the kind of partner who might one day bring you your slippers or entertain you with new tricks. Duke is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and already on preventatives. He’s still with his dedicated foster in Texas and virtual meet and greets are available. The rescue will arrange transport to an approved adopter anywhere needed. Duke gets along well with other dogs and children, and he’s looking for someone ready to welcome a bright, active puppy into their life. Ready to meet your new best friend? Apply now!
