Spike is a white, adult domestic short hair living in Glendale, AZ. He is a neutered male, up to date on all vaccinations, and tested negative for FELV/FIV. Spike is known for his affectionate nature, but he does best as the only pet and prefers a calm home without young children. He eats only wet food twice a day due to having no teeth, and he requires regular steroid shots for chronic stomatitis, so he will thrive in an experienced cat owner's care.

About Spike

Spike is a survivor, having braved the Arizona desert after a run-in with jumping cholla and local predators. Rescued by a vigilant foster after weeks of roaming, he’s now thriving indoors—safe, warm, and well-fed. Spike doesn’t have any teeth left, so he relishes his wet food twice a day and will need his new family to stick to that routine. He’s a vocal, exceptionally affectionate cat who shadows his foster, always ready for cuddles and lap time. A quiet home suits Spike best, ideally with an experienced cat owner who understands the needs of a cat with a rough history. Spike’s been diagnosed with chronic stomatitis, so even after all his teeth were removed, he still requires steroid shots during flare-ups. Administering these is a must, so only adopt if you’re comfortable providing that care. Spike should be the only pet—other animals and young children make him anxious. He’s neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and tested negative for FELV/FIV and worms. If you’re ready to offer him the steady, peaceful life he deserves, Spike could be your perfect match.
