AvailableAbout Anubis
Anubis may share a name with the ancient guardian of the afterlife, but this 1-year-old Dogo Argentino mix is far more interested in guarding your couch, your hiking schedule, and your heart. At a statuesque 72 pounds, he’s a certified gentle giant with a presence that says “majestic,” and a personality that says “hi, I love you already.” Before making his grand entrance into rescue life, Anubis was living solo in a cemetery, cared for by kindhearted humans who made sure he was fed. Which means yes—he’s technically risen from the dead… socially. And instead of coming back brooding and mysterious, he returned as a sweet, friendly, tail-wagging ray of sunshine. Honestly, unexpected, but we’re not questioning it. Anubis is what happens when you take a big, strong dog and give him the temperament of your nicest friend. He loves everyone he meets, gets along beautifully with other dogs, and approaches life with an easygoing charm that makes him incredibly hard not to adore. He’s social without being overwhelming, affectionate without being clingy, and just the right amount of goofy to keep things interesting. On leash, he’s an absolute dream—smooth, steady, and ready for whatever adventure you have in mind. Want a hiking buddy? He’s already lacing up his imaginary boots. Prefer a relaxed brunch date where he can quietly soak up compliments from strangers? He’s got that covered too. Anubis is versatile like that. If he has a “challenge,” it’s that he doesn’t seem to realize he’s a large dog. Personal space is more of a suggestion, and his version of a casual lean can feel like a full-body hug from a very enthusiastic friend. But let’s be honest—that’s less of a problem and more of a perk. Anubis is already neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, and tested negative on his 4DX for heartworm and tick-borne disease, so he’s fully prepared to step into his forever role as your loyal companion. If you’re looking for a dog who is equal parts impressive and endearing, with a backstory that sounds dramatic but a personality that’s pure gold, Anubis is ready to leave his past behind and be the best thing in your future.
