Meet #Lola… Lola came in with another dog just a few days ago. They had a home… they had a family that was looking after them… and when that person showed up, they unfortunately surrendered Lola because she had been left in their care and they no longer could keep her. Today we took her out into the play yard just to spend some time with her. She stayed very close to our volunteers, unsure, a little nervous, but wanting to be near us. And then… we saw it. A little smile. And if you know, you know… that right there is everything. Lola is gentle. She walks beautifully on a leash, staying close like she just wants to belong to someone again. She listens, she tries, she takes treats softly. She’s about 3–4 years old, around 50 lbs, and just needs some TLC—she has a few sores on her legs , not sure if it came from being on the run.. She came in with another dog, so we believe she could do well with a calm companion.
