Lula is a soft little soul with a playful, goofy side. She’s a toy poodle through and through. Friendly, affectionate, and very into her people. She loves to engage with just about everyone she meets, including kids, and has a sweet, gentle way about her. She also has a fun streak. She’ll happily play fetch with squeaky toys around the house, chase a small tennis ball outside, and proudly chew on a stick like a big dog! Once she’s had a little run or a good play session, she settles in easily and is calm and easy to live with. She’s also house trained. Lula really benefits from having another dog around, ideally a calm and confident small dog. It helps her feel more secure and gives her a buddy to follow. She bonds closely with her people and is happiest in a home where she’s not left alone all day. She’s not loud or destructive, but she truly thrives on connection. She can be sensitive when it comes to transitions. Being handed off to someone new or going into a new environment can feel overwhelming. With a slow, gentle approach and a little patience, she comes around and shows you who she really is. She’s also pretty typical for a toy poodle in that she can be a little picky with food and not thrilled about grooming, so she’ll do best with someone who understands the breed or similar toy dogs and can be kind but consistent with her. Lula is not a beginner dog, but in the right home she is incredibly special.
