Asante started out wary of people, like her Viking littermates. Adjustment took time, and she still needs a little warm-up before she’s comfortable with new faces and places. Once she settles in, though, she’ll follow you everywhere, purring and eager for attention. What’s funny is, Asante adores affection but sometimes forgets how to ask for it in a gentle way—she’ll get so excited she might give a love bite or little smack or hiss to signal she wants more petting rather than curling up for a traditional snuggle. Her manners are improving, but she’ll need someone patient who can help her continue to grow into the affectionate lap cat she wants to be.
