About Mona

There's an unmistakable sense of comfort that comes with Mona. She brings together the squat shape of a Basset Hound with the openhearted energy of a Labrador. Her eyes are expressive, and she gives you the impression she’s read the story of your life and decided you’re worth loving anyway. Mona arrived at Fluff Animal Rescue after her elderly owner could no longer keep her. She came in with Lisa, who is probably her daughter, and while they do enjoy each other's company, Mona is her own dog—completely capable of being content on her own. At about 8 years old, Mona strikes that rare sweet spot of maturity—she’s playful without bouncing off the walls, affectionate without being needy, and simply easy to share a home with. In new situations, she’s both interactive and calm, choosing to check in with her person instead of adding to the chaos. Her paperwork says Basset Hound/Beagle, but she acts more like a Basset/Lab mix—in temperament and in how she steers clear of the classic beagle howling. Mona isn’t looking for thrills. She wants to connect and feel at home. Fun fact: Mona is a Pisces, known for their gentle, soulful presence. Click apply to start the adoption process.
