Cold with moderate snowfall. The hilly terrain can be icy and treacherous after winter weather. The B-Line Trail is usually cleared and safer for walking. Griffy Lake trails may be snow-packed but remain scenic.

Spring

Mar – May

Wildflowers in the limestone hills and forest are spectacular. Griffy Lake is beautiful as the canopy fills in. Thunderstorms increase and tornado watches are possible. Ticks emerge early in the wooded terrain.

Summer

62°F to 88°F

Jun – Aug

Warm and humid but the forest canopy provides welcome shade. Morning walks on the B-Line Trail and around Griffy Lake are pleasant. The campus area quiets down in summer, offering peaceful walking routes.

Fall

38°F to 68°F

Sep – Nov

Southern Indiana fall color in the hardwood forests is stunning. Griffy Lake and the Hoosier National Forest trails are at their best. October is the peak month for scenic hikes with your adopted companion.
