Meet Luna — your perfect, easygoing best friend 🐾 Luna is a 4-year-old Lab/Hound mix weighing about 56 lbs, and she truly checks all the boxes for a loving, low-maintenance companion. This sweet girl has a gentle, affectionate nature and quickly becomes your loyal “velcro” dog — she just loves being near her people. Luna is wonderful with everyone she meets, including men, women, and children. She has a calm, submissive personality and thrives on human connection, happily soaking up attention, belly rubs, and car rides. She’s the kind of dog who will follow you from room to room just to keep you company. She’s fully potty trained, has great house manners, and is not destructive — no chewing, no troublemaking. She hasn’t needed a crate in her current home and does just fine without one. She walks well on a leash (even if she doesn’t always go in a perfectly straight line!) and enjoys getting out and about. Luna has lived with multiple dogs and cats and does well with both. She is non-reactive and well-mannered, does not mind sharing her toys with others. She loves to play with kids during her park outing. She is Quiet, and only barks if someone is at the door. She is food-motivated and knows basic commands like “sit” and “come” Luna enjoys her pup cups and toys — especially her beloved bear — though she’s more of a cuddler than a fetch enthusiast. While she has a playful side, she’s not overly hyper and settles nicely in the home. Currently living comfortably in a hi-rise condo, Luna adapts easily and enjoys the attention she receives when going up and down the elevator. She would do well in many types of homes. She’s truly a “no drama” dog — sweet, steady, loving, and just an all-around joy to have. She is currently being fostered in Houston but can travel to any state, even Canada to the right home. Her adoption fee of $400 includes all her shots (DAPP, Rabies, Bordetella) as well as heartworm test, monthly heartworm and flea preventatives, spay surgery, microchip, and deworming schedule. Yards, if any, MUST BE adequately and fully fenced to adopt our pups. We do not accept electric or underground fences. We are extremely transparent and like to share everything negative and positive with the adopters, to ensure it's a good fit and they are not returned to us, as the trips are very stressful on them. If, after meeting a pup, the foster parent or the adoption applicant do not feel they are a good fit for each other, we often offer other pups who are better fit. Houston is home to million strays, many who are abandoned, many born on the streets, many who escaped while living in the yard, which is common in Texas. Since our rescue does not get grants that shelters get, we use adoption fee to help the pups and kitties in our care. Your adoption fee goes towards vetting and feeding our long term and permanent fosters, and unadoptable pups, as well as towards the monthly care and preventatives etc of our pets. By adopting one pup from our rescue, you make room for another dog to be rescued from our high kill shelter, thus becoming an integral part of our mission to save as many unfortunate dogs off the streets and shelters as possible.
