About Oscar
Oscar is a 2-year-old Shih Tzu/Miniature Poodle mix with a long, creamy white and brown coat. He’s only 12 pounds but comes across older than his years. Oscar prefers a slow-paced day—he loves a relaxing stroll on leash, a car ride, and just taking in the world at his own speed. After a rough patch of neglect and recovery from kennel cough, he’s looking healthier and slowly building trust. Oscar sets his own boundaries, voicing his likes and dislikes with a cartoon-worthy grumble; he’s independent, mellow, and wise to the world. Oscar enjoys being around other dogs but skips the play in favor of observing from the sidelines. He’ll seek gentle attention and likes pets, often climbing up for a lap visit, but he’s not much for heavy affection—hugs and kisses are still unfamiliar territory. Oscar is crate trained and house trained. With food, he’s learning to relax as he trusts regular meals are now a sure thing. Oscar has met children briefly and was polite, but a home without young kids is the best fit right now. He’d do well with an adult family and possibly another small dog. Oscar is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, and ready for a home that won’t let him down. His sun sign is Pisces, so this calm, soulful dog may surprise you with flashes of intuition and sensitivity. They are ready to love you; are you ready to apply?
