About Zeke
Meet Zeke. He spent years as a beloved family companion before circumstances forced him to find a new place to call home. Zeke is a small, senior guyāpolite, house trained, and set in his ways, in the best sense. He rides quietly in the car and can sleep the night through. Walks are a daily ritual for him; he will strut along on leash, sometimes with a pony-like trot, and show just enough interest in birds and squirrels to keep things lively but never pulls hard. If you need to leave for a few hours, Zeke will usually nap. He should wear a belly band when youāre out, just in case he voices his protest with a minor accident. He lives for cuddles, massages, and has perfected the art of requesting attentionāwith a grunt or a little hop. Zeke delights in his licky mat, treats (which he takes with care), and now has discovered the fun of toys, though his idea of fetch is brief and gentle. Multiple soft dog beds make him happy at naptime. Zeke has lived well with cats and chill dogs, but he likes his space and may guard resources. He is best with older kids and prefers calm environments. He wants to be in the same room as you when youāre home and will bark if left alone elsewhere. He's content to be your office buddy if you work from home. Healthwise, he handles a few issues like some masses and a mild cough from collapsing trachea, managed by medicine, along with some hearing and low-light vision lossānothing that holds him back from stairs or exploring. Zeke is about 13 years old and 21 lbs, fostered in Rockville, MD. Ready for a gentle, loyal shadow? Click apply to start the adoption process.
