About Arnold

This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to New England shortly with no additional travel costs. The long distance adoption process includes talking to the foster they are living with in the south. Roughly 90% of our dogs are successfully long distance adopted and 10% adopted locally. **Please read Arnold's entire profile, which includes a link to the adoption application at the end. Thank you!** Meet Arnold, a 1-year-old Black Lab / Chocolate Lab mix, weighing 55 pounds (as of 4/20/26). Arnold was sadly surrendered by his owner in Mississippi. While he'll always miss them, he's way more excited to get to know you! Quick update: Arnold is always happy, loves to play, gives kisses, rides well in the car, house trained, doesn’t chew up the house when left alone, super smart. He will sit for food, and understands “stay” when leaving the house. Not a big barker, he isn’t aggressive, happy around people. I assume he will like children, but haven’t had any children around him. I don’t think he can live with a cat, should be great with non territorial dog. Arnold is an energetic boy that would thrive with an active family who can outrun robots, explosions and overall chaos. Sorry. The Terminator is his favorite movie. When he's not playing with people or other dogs, Arnold will show off his soft side: he loves to cuddle, enjoys belly rubs, and is super loving. He always wants to be with his people to make sure the robots don't get them! How nice! This super happy boy has got lots of puppy in him with his constant wagging his tail. While Arnold still needs to learn manners, he's house trained, walks on leashes, and is crate trained. He's not aggressive; we think he'd be great with children though he's only met them on walks or other outings. The best way to this boy's heart is food, so treats to bribe him are certainly an option! Medical Disclosure: Arnold came to us with an eye infection, but it's been treated and he's now completely healed! Arnold can't wait to join your home and finally say "Hasta la vista, baby!" All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. All dogs require professional training to become the best family member they can be. To adopt or learn more about Arnold, you must fill out an adoption application. To find the application, copy and paste this URL into your browser: WWW.GDRNE.COM/ADOPTION-APPLICATION [Adoption Fee: $495] ** PLEASE READ: If a dog is listed, then s/he is currently available for adoption. Their information is correct to the best of our abilities and the information we have been given as of the day of posting. From time to time we receive new information/photos of a dog and we do recreate their listing, which means their old listing link will no longer be valid. If you are considering a dog but don't apply right away please make sure to search for the dog by name if the link you have no longer works. Please note, GDRNE does not guarantee the breed of any dog or puppy unless stated that we have run DNA. All breeds listed are educated estimates. Note that if the dog is listed as an "Out of town pet" there are NOT additional transport fees - it is included in our adoption fee Our dogs are rescued from various situations. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application. Great Dog is not a shelter so there is no building you can visit. Our dogs live in private foster homes until adopted.
