Meet Benji! He is a Yorkie-Shih Tzu mix, weighing 7 lbs and almost 4 months old. He is currently in a private foster home. Please note that adoption applications must be submitted and veterinary references approved before a meet-and-greet can be arranged. Benji has been socialized around cats, small dogs, and toddlers. He is an incredibly sweet puppy who loves being outdoors with his people. While he isn't particularly interested in squirrels or birds, he does love to "attack" the garden hose when it slithers by! He is a total lap dog who loves being held and he also loves to "sploot" to stretch out on his belly and back. He’s a big fan of rolling around outside with a small kickball—he is absolutely hilarious to watch! He plays well with cats and loves doing his "big bear" impression by standing on his hind legs with his paws in the air. Benji is not very vocal and rarely barks, though he does make a cute chirping sound when he wants your attention. He is crate trained and very close to being fully pad trained. Because of his Yorkie-Shih Tzu coat, his shedding is extremely minimal, but he will require daily brushing and frequent professional grooming. As you can see, he’s officially ready for his very first puppy cut! Medical Status: • Neutered • Received all four DHLPP (puppy) shots. • Rabies vaccine complete. • Microchipped. • Treated for parasites. • Started on monthly heartworm prevention.
