RIVER gets his name from his calm and majestic manner. This big boy is quiet, respectful and sweet. He loves to take long naps on his cat tree and enjoys a good shoulder rub. Everyone loves RIVER for his calming nature. In a word, he is “zen”. RIVER gets along well with other cats so he could be on his own or an addition to your kitty family. Filling out an application does not guarantee adoption of a particular cat or kitten. We receive many applications for each listed cat, and we review them carefully to ensure a good fit. Of approvable applications, we give precedence to the earliest that we receive. All of our cats and kittens are rescued, or surrendered to us by their previous owners, and now seek loving, permanent homes. All of our cats are spayed/neutered, given age-appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV and FeLV, as well as given flea, heartworm, and ear mite prevention. We do not DNA or allergy test our cats. We cannot guarantee the breed mix, as we are a rescue, not breeders. Please note that we are a privately run rescue. We are not government funded and get very few donations. The care that we provide, the animals that we rescue, all costs are covered out of pocket, so our adoption fees are higher than what you may find at a funded or government shelter.
