About Tater Tot

(DOB 02/11/2024) Tater Tot is a happy-go-lucky cuddle bug with a playful streak. His energy comes in two speeds: couch potato and go-go-go. He loves a good play session (or backyard zoomies), then happily settles in close to his people for serious snuggle time. Tater Tot has never met a stranger; he assumes everyone is a friend. So be sure you are ready for a social butterfly as he "introduces" himself with a large smile and a tail that is wagging to everyone who passes by! He's been great with kids and other dogs. He's curious about chickens but hasn't harmed them, and he hasn't met a cat yet. He loves toys, but he'll also entertain himself with a piece of paper or a cardboard box. When playtime is over, he crashes hard and prefers to do it cuddled up close. He'd likely do best with a fenced in yard to get his zoomies out (especially during his high-energy bursts). He'd probably enjoy a regular playmate of similar size and temperament, but it's not required. He's done well with a 20 lb puppy and a 50 lb, 2-year-old dog, and he adjusts his play style to whoever he's with. Even though Tater Tot would love a fenced in yard to romp around in, it isn't a deal breaker with the right person/family. That being said, he could be happy in an apartment, condo or townhome as long as his person is giving him lots of love and attention! Speaking of which, his ideal arrangement would be a home where his favorite someone is home a good deal of the time; work from home, doing school work, etc. He does love being with his peeps, so long stretches without them would not be his perfect jam. As an adolescent (beyond puppy but not quite adult), Tater Tot is still learning all of his manners, and he's catching on quickly and wants to please. He does well on a potty schedule and is already crate trained, too. Food & treats are his friend and feel free to use them for training rewards! Cars, well those are still a bit knew to Tater Tot and he is a little nervous to begin with and then settles in for the ride. He's probably not your jogging buddy; he prefers to stop, sniff, and thoroughly inspect everything on the trail. Without a yard at his foster's home, he does lots of walks (and a few quick jogs when zoomies strike), but his favorite place to be is still right in your lap. Also, if you're working from home (BONUS), he'll happily settle in by your side and inform you of any "goings-on" you should know about. As part of Tater Tot's $300 adoption fee, he will be neutered, microchipped, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, and current on his monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives.
