It seems as if Hattie once knew the comforts of a home, since she is very well-behaved, easy on a leash, and shows signs of having been house-trained. Sadly, Hattie came to the shelter with heartworm, but she is already getting treatment to be on the road to healing. There is typically a 6-8 week period of restricted exercise after treatment, so the best thing for her recovery is to find her forever family soon, so that she is in a cozy, caring home where she can heal surrounded by love.
