Austen has extra toes and is extra loving too! This sweet boy is around 1-2yr old, very affectionate, has a sassy side, and he is good with other cats. He’s not been with the rescue too long, but has already shown us what character he has! His unique extra toes are just an added bonus to a great personality! About Extra-Toes Cat / Hemingway Polydactyl Cats

Extra-Toes Cats, also known as Hemingway Polydactyls, are cats born with more than the usual number of toes due to a genetic trait. Named after Ernest Hemingway, whose Key West home still houses a colony of polydactyl cats, these charming felines can have up to seven toes on each paw. The extra toes give their paws an adorable, oversized "mitten" appearance.

Adopting a Hemingway Polydactyl means welcoming a cat with a unique physical trait and typically a wonderful, adaptable personality. Polydactyl cats come in all breeds and mixes, so their temperaments vary widely. Their extra toes are harmless and often give them enhanced dexterity.
