About Caico
Caico is a sensitive, nervous little dog from St. Lucia who needs a calm, steady, and loving home to settle in and thrive. He lived with both a small and a large dog in his previous home and enjoyed playing with them, but he’s protective of his food and should be fed separately—understandable, given his early life learning to protect himself. New human babies and frequent visitors stressed him out, so his previous family felt it was best for everyone to find him a quieter environment. Caico’s old owners recall how his playful spirit shifted to gentleness and concern when the household’s senior dog returned from a health crisis. That kind of sensitivity and emotional intelligence is rare. As Caico builds trust, he’ll wrap himself around your legs for affection and beg for butt scratches. He absolutely loves stuffed animals—mostly to shred and de-fluff—so have a few on standby. Loud noises and sudden changes make him skittish, and he has limited depth perception since he has only one eye left. He’ll do best with older kids and patient adults with both the time and know-how to help a nervous, instinct-driven dog grow into his best self. Caico is waiting to meet someone who gets him and can bring out his joy. Ready to fall in love? Hit apply and lets get started.
