I've been waiting ever since. Shelter life has its perks — I've made some good feline friends, found my favorite window spots, and perfected my perch game on the cat tree. But between you and me? I've been ready for my actual life to start for a while now. I'll be honest: I'm a little shy at first. I'm not the guy who's going to bound up to you the second you walk in the room. But give me some time and a little patience, and something shifts. Suddenly I'm your cat — the one curled near you while you watch TV, the one angling his chin toward your hand for scratches (behind the ears too, please), the quiet shadow who just wants to be where you are. I'm mellow. I'm gentle. I get along great with other cats. I don't ask for much — just a window, a good perch, and someone to finally call home. All have had a vet exam, are up to date on vaccinations, have been given a dewormer and treated for fleas and ear mites if needed. All cats are tested for FeLV/FIV at six months of age.
