About Fernsweet Ginger Gorl

386-334-1787 ADOPT FERN! A female ginger kitty with a fluffy tail who likes to cuddle and play! Would love to find her a stable and loving home. This adoption is NOT through Furry Nation Salvation and is a Courtesy Post. Please call the individual listed below with any further questions or to set up a time to meet the pet. Thank you. Please call/text this number if interested: 386-334-1787 Cat located in this city: port orange Cat’s Name: Fern Cat’s Age & Sex: 9 female with medium length fur and fluffy tail Cat’s vetting history (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped): spayed & vaccinated Animals story: (where found and reason for wanting to rehome): she was rehomed to me 3 years ago because the home she was in had many animals and she was being picked on. I am rehoming because I live on the 3rd floor in an apartment and she is very active at night and goes in and out waking me up a number of times a night. I made the mistake of allowing her outside-but the rescue lady helping me stated it would be easy to keep her indoors at a new home by using scare tactics- such as a loud horn outside (near door) or even placing fire crackers outside to make her fearful of the outdoors. She also doesn’t like being alone so if im out of town even 1 day I have to get a sitter or keep her out with food and water because she wont use the litter box. I also talked to the rescue lady about this- and a few things could help. First off, getting her eating more wet food (to make sure no medical problems can start and maybe if there was another cat in the home for companionship). More on wet food below. Personality (shy, social, likes to be held, lap cat? Likes or dislikes): she's very social and loves to be pet , likes to cuddle - but does not like to be held as she simply isn’t use to it.. She plays with a light or string toy or a slimple fake mouse but I havent found anyother toys she enjoys. Any Supplies that go with pet (food, litter, leash, cat box, bedding, toys): she has a mango cardboard box she loves and the toys I've spoken of. What food is the cat eating (dry only, dry and wet): dry food and occasional wet- but again I learned why limiting the dry food is key and giving more wet food to avoid and potential health issues in future. More below. :::::::::::Please know that cats need canned wet food given DAILY. Why? Because cats have a low thirst drive and actually NEED the moisture from the wet food! Wet food is 75 % water (dry FOOD only 10%) and giving them wet food daily will help them avoid Urinary tract issues (which can lead to litter box avoidance), kidney disease, obesity issues linked to diabetes and cardiac issues. You will save on vet bills too! Limit the overly processed dry food and ensure cat eats all the wet food daily. At the VERY minimum each cat should get one 3oz. can of wet food a day or HALF of a 5.5oz. can a day (although we recommend double this). :::::::::::: More info here: FurryNationSalvation.Org/wetfood IF YOU WANT TO ADOPT: 1) Please show up with a cat carrier 2) Small adoption fee of: $20 3) I will call/text one month from adoption day just to make sure everything is going well 4) Please show up with your Driver's License. 5) Information sheet will be filled out (your information as well as mine) *Please know, that when you bring your newly adopted cat or kitten home, it is always BEST to place him/her in a very small room (bathroom works great) with their litter box, food, water, and bed for a few days to a few weeks. This way the animal can adjust much quicker and get acclimated to the new environment with less stress. All cats/kittens need time to adjust, so if you adopt please allow this. Thank you.
