About Cinder

Cinder is a sweet, spunky 11 week old husky / terrier mix that weighs 12 lbs. She is expected to weigh around 45-50 lbs when she is fully grown. One minute she’s making you laugh with her silly antics, and the next she’s curled up in your arms, completely melting your heart with her sweetness. She’s incredibly social and thrives on being part of the action. Whether it’s meeting new people, joining in on gatherings, or tagging along for outings, she is the happiest pup when she’s included in all of the fun activities with her humans. She has a playful, goofy spirit and a natural ability to bring fun wherever she goes. Toss her a tennis ball, hand her a squeaky toy, or let her loose with some doggy friends, and she’s in her element running, wrestling, and playing to her heart’s content. As she grows, Cinder will do best with an active family that can match her spunky, playful energy. Her curious nature and growing love for the outdoors make her an ideal adventure buddy if you love hiking and exploring nature. She also loves car rides and is the perfect passenger princess that will snooze on the front seat the whole ride. Her ideal family will be active and adventurous, and want a pup they can take everywhere with them. If there are older kids and another playful dog, even better! She is happiest when she has something to do and someone to do it with. Cinder is medium energy, so she has short bursts of puppy energy that are easily burned with exercise and play sessions. Her favorite activities include playing some fun mental stimulation games that involve yummy treats, playing in the backyard, and romping around with her doggy friends. Her face lights up when she meets a new furry friend and she could play as long as her doggy friend wants to play. She’s also perfectly content to entertain herself with her favorite toys when she can't find another pup to play with. She has learned how to keep herself busy with her toys and chew bones when the other dogs in her foster home don't want to play anymore. Once playtime wraps up, her sweet and snuggly side takes center stage and she will curl up next to her human or another dog for a nap. She is also very curious and loves to snoot around checking out every single inch of the yard when she goes outside. She loves to greet every neighbor that walks by and always runs over to say hello through the fence. For daily exercise, she would love to join her humans for casual neighborhood walks in the evenings and exploring longer nature trails on the weekends. Hiking through the woods, splashing around near the water, or strolling through town for some new sights and smells, Cinder will always be happy to go along for the ride. With her adaptable energy level, she’s just as content with a short playtime activities as she is going on a bigger, more adventurous outings. Cinder is dog, cat, and kid friendly. She is in a foster home with two large dogs and a small dog, and she loves them all. She enjoys playing with the two younger dogs and respects the personal space of the senior dog in the home. She has learned important socialization skills and proper doggy communication thanks to the older dogs in her foster home. She would love to have another playful, energetic dog in her forever home to play and snuggle with. If she is the only dog in the home, she would benefit from going to doggy day care and having frequent play dates with other dogs because she is very social, and loves to have fun running and playing with them. When it comes to cats, she would do best with cats that are experienced with living with dogs and that can handle having a playful, spunky puppy in the home. If there are kitties in the home, slow introductions are a must because she is a puppy and will want to play with them. Cinder would love to have kids is her forever home. She is very playful, silly, and sweet, and she loves to get pets and share sweet puppy kisses so the more people to share her love with, the better. She is the perfect pup for a family with kids because she loves affection and cuddle time, and is also always ready to have some fun. Because she is more on the active side and still very much a puppy, she would do best with older kids who can run around and play with her in the backyard.  Cinder is kennel trained, has almost mastered potty trained, and is still working on leash training. She does sleep in a kennel every night and will happily go inside to lay down as long as she gets a yummy treat to snack on before she falls asleep. She will sleep throughout the night without making a peep, and will not have an accident in her kennel. As she gets older, she would love to sleep in bed with her humans and get as many cuddles as she can while you sleep. Because she is about to start teething and is learning what are appropriate items to chew on, it is recommended to also kennel her when you leave the home. She is doing great with potty training and has gotten on a good routine in her foster home. She does need to be taken out every 3-4 hours on a consistent schedule, but has learned how to alert her fosters she needs to go out by standing at the door. When it comes to leash training, she will need additional practice with that when she gets to her forever home because she is a puppy and still gets distracted along the way. When she sees a new person or dog, she gets excited and she wants to be their best friend right away, so her fosters are working on training her to be neutral on walks, but she continued training is recommended so she can learn to walk like a calm lady on her outings.  Cinder can make any place feel like home. With her adaptable, fun-loving nature, she would be a wonderful fit for a variety of households. She does need to have a family that either works from home, can take her to a dog friendly office, or that has the means to enroll her in doggy day care while they work. She would love to live in a house with a fenced in backyard that she can run around and play in. She will be able to adjust and live happily in a townhome or apartment that has lots of walking trails nearby since she does need a few walks and play sessions each day to help burn her puppy energy. She would do love to have a family that has other dogs and kids to play and cuddle with. If she is the only dog in the home, she would benefit from going to doggy day care to help her burn her puppy energy, continue socializing, and to learn proper play etiquette with other dogs as she continues to grow. No public dog parks for this sweet girl (who wants to risk your pup catching a disease or being bullied on by other random dogs anyways), but she would love to have fun adventures at Sniff Spots or doggy day care occasionally for playtime and exercise if she does live in an apartment, condo, or townhouse without a private fenced-in yard. Cinder just wants to share life with her people and go on lots of fun adventures as she grows. She’s so excited to find a forever family who will give her all the love, adventure, and companionship she dreams of. *If you are interested in adopting Cinder, please fill out an application at: www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/adoption-application Cinder is in a foster home in Central Texas. She can be adopted and transported to the following cities/states: https://www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/transport-locations TRANSPORT: Currently we have monthly transports. It will be up to the adoptive family to meet the transport to pick up your new family member. Please be advised that our dogs are adopted to their forever families prior to being transported. Unfortunately at this time, we cannot bring dogs for a typical meet and greet situation, due to the extensiveness of the transport distance and it being unfair for the dogs who are not adopted to have to make the trip back. This is a courtesy post for LAPP Dog Rescue. Applications are reviewed in the order that they are received. To ensure we are honoring the dogs that we have committed to helping, we have policies and procedures in place that we follow when reviewing adoption applications. LAPP Dog Rescue is ran 100% by volunteers, so when you submit an application it can take a few days to be reviewed. Submitting an application is not a confirmation that the adoption will be approved/completed. Before submitting the application, please read the FULL description on PetFinder describing the dog's personality, energy level, housing requirements and our policy on meet and greets. The cost to adopt is $850, which includes $400 adoption fee, a $250 transport fee, and a $200 REFUNDABLE spay deposit. The adoption fee includes all age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, flea/tick/heartworm prevention, health certificate from a licensed veterinarian, plus any necessary vet care while in the rescue's care. The $200 refundable spay deposit will be paid directly to the adopter's vet before the spay appointment once she is old enough to undergo the procedure. The transport fee covers the transportation from Cinder's foster home to her forever home. You can see more pictures of Cinder on our website: https://www.loveandpuppypawsdogrescue.com/cinder
