Josie is a bright, affectionate girl with tons of charm and potential. She’s made huge strides in her health and training and continues to improve every day. With continued guidance and structure, she’ll make a wonderful companion for someone ready to embrace her sweet personality and help her grow. *Home & Training* - Fully housebroken — not a single accident. - Crate trained and goes in easily for naps, bedtime, or when her foster steps out. - Knows sit, stay, off, and is learning leave it — she is a quick learner! - Understands walk and go out. - Easy to leash and walks beautifully on a leash and collar. - Pulls on a harness - Takes treats gently and is easy to redirect. - Non-destructive when left free but doesn’t mind her crate either; she sleeps in it at night and goes in voluntarily. - Now spayed as of 3/24. - Likes bath time and lets her foster clean her ears and touch her paws — no sensitive spots noted. *Personality* - Sweet, spirited girl with a fun, lively disposition. - Has done beautifully with every human she’s met, including adult sons and female friends. - Still learning how to play appropriately with people and may nip in excitement, but improving daily. *Sensitivities & Management* - Becomes overexcited/anxious around loud appliances (vacuum, hairdryer, coffee grinder). - Managed by crating her with a chew and covering the crate; she settles after initial barking. - Gets overstimulated in the car. - Does best in a crate in the car as well. *Socialization With Other Dogs* - Did well with: - Two small Boston Terriers (male and female) - A medium puppy through a fence - One less successful interaction with a female pit mix.
