Poppy AKA Lady Poppy Von Whiskerton III, is a beautiful and funny 6-year-old female calico. The stress of being in the shelter caused her to continually scratch at her ear, leading to a wound. Because of this, she spent an extended period in the clinic, which limited her space and added to her stress. Once placed into a foster home, the change in environment made a huge difference. After just a day of settling in, she began exploring every corner of her new space, checking out every height, enjoying cat trees, and finally having room to run and play. Her wound resolved within two weeks, with no further scratching. Poppy is quite the talker and loves to share her thoughts throughout the day. She's affectionate but not overly demanding, happy to give head bumps, rub against you, and relax nearby while you watch TV. While she enjoys companionship, she prefers not to be carried for long periods. Poppy social and playful, enjoys interactive play, and loves to climb. Poppy is also dog-indifferent; after brief introductions, she tends to lose interest and go her own way. Having lived near other cats for an extended time, she is presumed to be cat-friendly. One of Poppy's favorite pastimes is relaxing, especially on a protected balcony where she can spend hours observing the world. Poppy loves her scratch pads and prefers vertical surfaces where she can fully stretch and dig in. She currently enjoys a tall, carpet-covered scratching board that keeps her happily occupied. Poppy is a wonderful cat who thrives in a comfortable home where she can explore, relax, and stay close to her people.
