About Gretchen
Gretchen is an 8-year-old Cheagle—a beagle and chihuahua mix—who’s just arrived at SFBR. She carries a happy spirit and never misses a chance to soak up attention or give it right back. Although Gretchen was found wandering and landed in a county shelter with no one coming forward, her optimism never wavered. She’s friendly, loving, and a true people dog, but she’s also dealing with some real health needs. Gretchen has a heart murmur and an enlarged heart, which the vet suspects might be contributing to her occasional cough. She also faces dental disease, a few small mammary masses to be checked, and some mild arthritis. Despite this, she remains affectionate and full of life. Because of her medical issues, Gretchen will require ongoing care in a foster home where she can relax and finally feel safe. Gretchen is ready for the second chance she’s waited for. Your new best friend is just one click away.
