Rescued from the streets of the Bronx before a storm in February 2026, Barry was a friendly kitty from the start. He is estimated to be about 6 months old as of mid-April 2026. Barry is the perfect balance of independent and affectionate. He loves doing his own thing—but even more than that, he loves being part of whatever his people (or foster feline siblings) are up to. You’ll often find him trotting from room to room behind you, just to stay in the loop. Whether he’s sneaking under the blankets for a cozy cuddle or quietly supervising your day, Barry is happiest when he feels included. Sweet-natured, Barry has a gentle, loving personality that makes him an easy companion for both humans and other cats. He has won over even the grumpiest adult cat in his foster home. Barry is also full of playful, curious kitten energy. He loves entertaining himself with toys like plastic springs, catnip mice, and his turbo scratcher—but he really lights up during interactive playtime. Feather wands are a big hit, and his absolute favorite is a wand with a toy fish on the end - he makes an adorable meow to ask for some playtime with that! At night, Barry is an excellent sleeper and lets his humans rest peacefully—no midnight chaos here. Because Barry genuinely enjoys feline companionship, he would do best in a home with another playful cat. A friendly resident kitty would help him thrive and give him the social connection he clearly loves. He hasn't met dogs, but we expect he would do fine with a cat-savvy dog after a thoughtful introduction. Similarly, he hasn't met children, but he is very gentle and we expect he would do well with school aged children who are respectful of animals. Barry is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, and vaccinated and he is negative for FIV and FeLV. He is currently being fostered in Westchester, NY, and transport across New York and to most of New England can be arranged for his perfect forever family. His adoption fee is $225.
