I’m Penny.Before I came here, my life was very different.I was chained outside. You could tell I hadn’t been cared for the way dogs are supposed to be. I didn’t know what soft felt like... or safe... or what it meant to belong somewhere.Then one day, I found my way into a yard.And for the first time... I stayed. Little by little, everything started to change.I learned what it feels like to sleep in a bed... my own bed.I learned what it feels like to have a toy... my own little ball.I learned what gentle hands feel like... and quiet voices.I learned what safety feels like.And now... I know how to love. About me:• ~21 lbs• Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped• Heartworm negative• Housebroken• Around 2 years old (still young and playful) My personality:I’m a sensitive girl, and I don’t rush into things.But when I trust you... I stay close.I love to cuddle and be near my person.I also still have a playful side—I’m young, and I enjoy playing and having little bursts of energy. About other dogs & my world:I’ve done well with the dogs in my current home.I haven’t been exposed to many new dogs, children, or busy environments, so new situations can feel overwhelming to me.Sometimes when I feel unsure or afraid, I can react—but I’m learning, and I’m trying.Please be patient with me... We promise our fosters that we will qualify all potential adopters before we ask them to communicate with potential adopters.The application is the first step. Russell Rescue dogs are fostered in the Middle Tennessee area. We do not ship/transport our dogs, so the approved adopter must be willing to travel to Tennessee.
