AvailableLyra is a young, medium-sized mixed breed Shepherd/Pit Bull Terrier with a chocolate brown short coat. She is a spayed female puppy currently in Tampa, FL. About Lyra
Lyra came to rescue as a puppy after being found in a box with her littermates, and she’s proven herself a true survivor since day one. She has spina bifida, so she can’t use her back legs and is incontinent, but these challenges have never dulled her playful spirit. The team is working on getting her a wheelchair so she can explore even more. Lyra is all heart—she constantly carries around her favorite stuffed toys and loves spending time with other animals. Her ideal adopter is someone with significant experience caring for medical-needs dogs and who is home much of the time. Lyra’s routine is hands-on: frequent diaper changes, regular bathing as needed, and consistent rehab therapy to keep her thriving. She needs structure and steady support to maintain her health. While caring for Lyra is more involved than a typical pup, her routine becomes manageable when you get to know her needs. She thrives best in a home committed to her ongoing care, preferably with another dog for company. Lyra gets along with both dogs and cats and would love a home where she’s considered family, quirks and all. Every day with her is about resilience and joy, and she will return dedication with endless affection. Your support could give her the next chapter she’s fought so hard for. Your new best friend is just one click away.
