This sweet and sultry pair of sisters love to hang out with each other as much as they enjoy cuddling with their humans. Greta is the more outgoing of the two girls – she totally wants to get as much people time as she can. Her sister Garbo started out on the shy side, at first hiding under the bed and venturing out for short spells. But over the first week in her foster home, she gradually warmed up and started hesitantly coming up to her foster mom, then increasingly with more and more confidence. After 3 weeks, she is almost as cuddly as her social-butterfly sister. Greta and Garbo are always eager to greet their foster mom when she comes home, they often sleep on the bed with her and ask for pets. The vet estimated their ages as 2-3 years old, and they do have their youthful playful side, especially when dangly wand toys come into view. At the same time, they are an undemanding pair – quiet voices, wait patiently for mom to get up and serve breakfast, and don’t get into any kind of trouble at all. They are truly a perfect pair! Greta and Garbo were initially supposed to be TNRs – cats who would simply be trapped, neutered, and returned to their outdoor home. They had been hanging around a College Park neighborhood where a kind neighbor fed them every day, so we knew they did not have another home. But then, a surprise happened – the spay-neuter clinic informed us that they had been pregnant. So, we decided to give them an extra day of recovery time – and since they were going to stay for 2 nights after surgery, we decided to put them in a crate to be a little more comfortable. Lo and behold, they soon relaxed and started showing their sweet personalities. Even shy Garbo started responding to pets with a loud purr. A few days later, they had graduated out of the crate and started snuggling on their foster mom’s bed with her. We think their story must be that they were initially raised in a home but then at some point they lost that home and had to learn to fend for themselves outside. Those poor sweet girls don’t belong outside, that’s for sure. They are now ready to find their forever home with someone who will give them the attention and cuddles that they crave.
