About Trouble

Meet Trouble, the French Bulldog! Trouble came to the Shelter after his previous guardian was unable to continue caring for him. He has been social with people, including children, in his previous home. He was described as house trained in his previous home. His favorite activities in the previous home were going for walks and playing. His favorite treats are dog biscuits and bananas. His favorite toys are balls. Trouble knows “sit”, “down” and “lay down”. He has lived with another dog previously and also has a history of doing well at the dog park in his previous home. Trouble’s next adopter should be well versed in brachycephalic dogs (aka short nosed dogs). Trouble has a few medical complications related to being “brachy” such as having trouble breathing during times of stress on the body (such as exercise or high temperatures). Trouble also has some ear issues that will likely be chronic, so his new family will need to coordinate and plan some treatment and diagnostics with their veterinarian prior to adoption. Our clinic team can discuss all things Trouble with any potential adopter. Trouble is available for preadoption - come meet him, fall in love and take him home after his neuter surgery! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
