When somebody calls you “Sweetheart,” that means they care for you, right? I’m an adorable older girl, estimated to be 9 years old. I was found outdoors on my own on February 10. Because I was underweight, wobbly and lethargic, I was taken to a vet. I was weak from hunger and dehydration. I was constipated and had badly matted fur. The list went on and on. I was hospitalized and received fluids and medication. Since returning to the shelter, I’ve been eating multiple small meals every day to gain weight and get stronger. Despite my many struggles to survive and become healthier, I am a sweet, loving girl. I am extremely affectionate, and I love being petted. I especially love being scratched behind my ears. I love being held. I appreciate all the tenderness and attentive care I receive. I am a big talker, and I am not shy about asking for attention. I like having a warm “snuggle disk” under my blanket to keep me warm and comfortable, and I also like being covered by a blanket at times. I am cherished by staff and volunteers, and I greet them with a happy meow when I hear them enter my room. I do not see well, if at all, and this is one thing to consider if you are thinking of adopting me. I can do well in a structured environment.
