WEEKEND ADOPTION EVENTS: SATURDAY, APRIL 18 from 12-3PM: PET ADOPTION EVENT at the MERRIAM PETSMART located at 5810 Antioch Rd, Merriam, KS 66202. Join us at Merriam Petsmart and meet your perfect match. We’ll have DOGS, PUPPIES & KITTIES ready to steal your heart! SATURDAY, APRIL 18 from 12-3PM: DOG ADOPTION EVENT at the OLATHE PETSMART at 119th & Strang Line with volunteers from Heart of America Humane Society. We'll have several wonderful dogs there looking for homes! -------- JUDE is a sweet Boxer with a beautiful shiny coat. He is 3 years old and weighs 56 lbs. Jude is a very gentle and calm boy. He is easy to walk on a leash. He is good with other dogs. Jude has several wounds on his face from being attacked by other male dogs over a female in heat. The wounds are healing well. And Jude's been neutered now, so his courting days are over! Sadly, Jude tested positive for heartworms. But please don’t let this scare you away! We just need to get him into a home during his treatment. The cost for the heartworm treatment is completely covered. We can provide you with more info about his heartworm treatment if you are interested in adopting or fostering him (we’d love to find him a foster home!). Once his treatment plan is completed, Jude will be able to live a normal healthy life with no restrictions! ADOPTING A DOG Our dogs have been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped and tested for heartworms (if 7 months or older). If you have a dog or children we ask that you bring them with you to meet our dogs to make sure it is a good match. We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends. No appointment is necessary for weekend adoptions. Our weekend hours vary and we also have satellite adoption events every weekend.
