Adoption fee: $650 Step right up to the Candy Shoppe, where the jars are full, the laughter is loud, and the puppies are as sweet as their names. These seven delightful little JRT/Dachshund mixes are serving up old-fashioned charm by the handful. At about 8 weeks old and weighing in between 5–8 pounds, this batch of sugary characters is being raised in loving foster homes in two cozy groups— four in one home and three in another— learning all the important lessons that help puppies grow into wonderful companions. With names inspired by the nostalgic candy counters of days gone by, each of these pups brings their own flavor to the mix. Whether they’re tumbling over each other in play, snoozing in a puppy pile, or riding along in their stroller like VIP customers headed to the soda fountain, the Candy Shoppe puppies are as wholesome and heart-melting as a trip to the corner candy store. Meet the Featured Sweets Oh Henry (M) is the life of the party and the first to sample whatever adventure is on the menu. He’s outgoing, confident, and always ready to try something new—especially if treats are involved. Henry is the resident foodie and social butterfly, making friends easily with both people and other dogs. He has a playful, easygoing personality that would make him a wonderful addition to many types of homes. Root Beer Barrel (M) is the goofy little brother type— full of wiggles, comedy, and affection. He’ll happily roll over for belly rubs and may even insist on them with adorable determination. Root Beer has a silly streak that keeps everyone laughing, and his loving nature makes him a wonderful cuddle companion after a busy day of play. Bit ‘o Honey (M) tends to step into the role of ringleader among his siblings. He’s observant, aware, and confident, often setting the tone for playtime. Honey enjoys rough-and-tumble games with his littermates (so much so that his collar mysteriously disappeared during one spirited wrestling match). He’s thoughtful, engaged, and always ready to join the fun. Fruit Striped Gum “Juicy” (F) is the gentle, slightly more reserved sweetheart of the group. While she may take a moment to warm up compared to the boys, she truly enjoys affection and melts into cuddles once she feels comfortable. Juicy has a quiet adventurous side and will explore new things on her own terms. She recently charmed an 11-year-old neighbor by happily relaxing in her arms for an entire visit—proof that beneath her shy exterior is a loving, trusting little companion. Daily Life in the Candy Shoppe These puppies wake up when their foster does and are always ready to start the day with a burst of energy. Mornings usually begin with a romp around their pen, followed by a stroller ride outside where they get to see the world, meet friendly neighbors, and soak up new experiences. They play hard, nap hard, and then do it all over again—just like happy, growing puppies should. They have dry puppy food available throughout the day, enjoy occasional shared wet food meals, and settle in nicely for nighttime rest. They sleep together in their crate inside a pen. The Sweet Takeaway The Candy Shoppe puppies are exactly what you’d hope to find behind the glass jars of a classic neighborhood candy store— joyful, playful, and impossible to resist. They love toys of all kinds (from stuffed animals to the occasional stolen shoe or toilet paper roll), enjoy companionship, and thrive on playtime, cuddles, and new adventures. Each of these little confections is ready to bring a sprinkle of sweetness, laughter, and old-fashioned puppy charm into a lucky forever home.
