Misu is an approximately 3-year-old female who came to the shelter as an owner surrender on 2/27, due to behavioral concerns around their young child. Behavioral notes: On 3/16, a volunteer reported that she likes to call Misu "Sweeper", because she looks like she could sweep the floor very well with her big tail. Per volunteer 3/16: Misu. Really enjoyed the feather toy with pets in between play. Per staff 3/15: Misu is a very lovely girl. She was definitely more spicy when she first got in as she was stressed and scared, but she is starting to open up more. She likes to come up and lay her back toward the kennel bars, she likes to have her back scratched and she will purr a bit. However she will let you know when she is done being pet by moving away or giving a gentle swat. I gave her some temptations cat nip treats and she loved them! Per staff 3/11: Came up to gate, pet her on his head, she was purring and was very cute Per staff 2/28: While attempting to transfer Misu, she kept hissing, growling & attempting to swat through carrier. I tried to allow time for him to decompress but she was very frantic & still continued to try to swat through carrier. Per Misu's 2/27 owner surrender questionnaire: Likes rubs in head + body, treats, toys, plastics dislikes: small children; loud noises. The owners reported that "Cat rubbed against child then suddenly attacked" the 3-year-old's legs. They also reported that "Cat keeps attacking their son unprovoked. She meows a few times, tail gets "bushy" and then she attacks. Not quick on and off- continues to go after them until client comes into the room and leads her somewhere else.
