Hi! My name is Jolteon! I was born to momma Clementine in rescue. Jolteon (Jolty) is such a wonderful boy! He's got the right amount of puppy energy mixed with puppy cuddles. He loves to be held but also loves to play. He doesn't understand cues too well from other dogs yet. When one of my dogs snarls at him, he licks her teeth. Luckily, my dog is all talk and they play together so well!! Jolty comes to work with me everyday and is such a good little coworker! He is mostly quiet and sleeps most of the time. We are working hard on potty training. I'd say he's pretty close. He's been around my nieces and nephews quite a bit and done mostly well but does sometimes get too excited and nips at hands and feet, but we are working on that. From the Vet: Jolteon was born with microphthalmos, which means his eyes are smaller than normal, and corneal edema, which gives his eyes a cloudy, "blue haze." Because his eyes didn't develop quite right, his vision is limited, but he doesn't let that slow him down! The Bond Between has consulted with a Veterinary Opthamology specialist - there is a very good chance that the corneal edema and fluid buildup in the corneal layers would cause blistering and painful ulcers as he ages. Ulcers could cause lifelong medical management needs at minimum and enucleation surgery may be necessary for him at some point. In consult with the specialist TBB has made the decision to elect eye removal at a young age with the hope that Jolteon will learn and navigate a world without sight, but also without pain and lots of vet visits! Jolteon is looking for a patient home that can navigate his new world with him. If you have a predictable environment and a lot of love to give, he is ready to be your loyal companion!
