Irene! This 2-year old mix of a Portuguese Water dog and Poodle is a dream come true for whomever is lucky enough to welcome her. Irene was rescued from a hoarding situation. All reports, from the veterinary hospital where she was vetted to the volunteers at our sister shelter in KY who saved her, indicate that Irene is one special pup. From day one at STAF, we see Irene’s charm, good nature, and relaxed demeanor already in abounds, and we are confident that Irene will prove to be a treasure for the family who recognizes these wonderful qualities. Irene gets along with her shelter mates and it appears that all humans are her best friends, particularly if you spend the time giving her the snuggles and scratches she so enjoys. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting. • You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF. • Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we can not adopt to homes with invisible fences. • We do request vet and personal references. • We can facilitate adoptions within a 30-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter
